The Flex Frame rake has proven its worth over the past 140 years. Durable, elegant, and lightweight, it finishes well and is an authentic accessory from early golf. Although initially your members will be attracted to the old world craftsmanship, they will soon put equal value on the easy operation.

 Rod Frame - 26" Head

The Rod Frame is a 21st century version of the Wire Frame we have made since the 1880's.  It has a very durable, trussed head to handle connection.  The Rod Frame is available in our standard rake sizes.  It can be used for bunker care or general maintenance.

Round tooth rakes are prefered for grass care, as round teeth gently comb, minimizing grass blade tear. The sharper edges on square tooth rakes tear grass. The resulting torn tips decay, dulling the presentation of your grounds.

Maintenance Crew Rakes

We refer to these as our "Low Maintenance" rakes, as they require less care than domestic hardwoods. Exotic hardwoods have natural resistance to mildew, decay, and UV degradation. Left natural, the wood will turn gray over time but stays quite smooth, similar to the high-end outdoor furniture some of you use. The new look can be retained with sealer. Exotic hardwood serves well in any climate, and is preferable in Tropical and arid areas.

At right are two exotic hardwood rakes. The upper natural, and the darker rake under it sealed. The two rakes below spent one year, side by side, on our rusty metal roof. The photo at left shows how exotic hardwood turns gray when it has not been protected with sealer.  The rake at right was sealed, and the right side shows sun bleaching. The left side has been re-sealed, and looks new.

Basic maintenance for exotic hardwood products:

Without maintenance, exotic hardwood will turn gray, but stays quite smooth. It can be kept looking new with periodic applications of sealer.

Basic maintenance for domestic hardwood rakes:

Regular maintenance is important, and we will assist you in developing a program that will get the most years from your Cheesebrough products. Cheesebrough wooden rakes are repairable, and every component is replaceable.

Bunker Rakes - Domestic Hardwood

Our stock rakes are constructed with domestic hardwoods, and require sealer protection for long life.  Before assembly, the individual components of these rakes are dipped in high quality wood sealer for a solid foundation of protection.
